This plant will tolerate a good amount of neglect. They do prefer natural but bright indirect light. This plants prefer to dry out in between waterings. Check the soil with your finger tip and if it is dry one inch below the soil go ahead and water. Feed your Maranta monthly with a liquid fertilizer. You can always ask your local gardening center which fertilizer will work best in your area.
Maranta are a fast growing plant and hey will grow out of control if you let them. You will also have to wipe off the leaves as they do accumulate dust, here is a great tip…if you place a little amount of vegetable oil on a cloth and wipe down the leaves it will make the leaves extra shinny and will not damage the plant.
Since the Marantas are not demanding and their bright green and yellow leaves make them extremely decorative in a verity of settings, you will not have a problem finding the perfect spot for the Marantas.
