Lavender

Temperature:  30-80 degrees Fahrenheit

Most people appreciate Lavender for its wonderful fragrance.   The romantic fragrance is used in soaps, shampoos scented laundry detergent and candles…just to name a few.  Did you know that the scent of Lavender is proven to help relieve insomnia, anxiety, depression and mood disorders…that is why I gave my boss a Lavender plant for her desk.

If you can find a sunny spot on the walkway to your home, that would be the ideal place to plant your Lavender.  Its fragrance will surround you each time you arrive and leave your home.  Lavenders are sun loving plants that need well drained soil.  Do make sure they are somewhat protected from heavy winds, other than that Lavenders require very little care.  One thing that can harm your Free Plant is to over fertilize it, if it does need something I recommend a light liquid fertilizer.

Lavender plants will tolerate many growing conditions.  You can plant your Lavender in a pot or container inside as long as your free plant is somewhere warm and where it will receive sunlight.  Be careful when watering your Lavender inside; insure that the pot has plenty of drainage.  It is dampness more than cold that is responsible for killing Lavender plants.

If you find yourself always buying Lavender scented candles and laundry detergent this is the plant for you.  Why not smell it every time you enter your home?  This will be the same for your guest, when they enter your home and smell the sweet smell of Lavender they will not only complement how wonderful your home smells but will leave feeling happy and relaxed, and wanting to come back again soon.  Depending on the person this could be a good or a bad thing.

Enjoy your Free Plant!
