This is a delightful little plant that is very colorful. The Kalanchoe plant is popular Christmas plant but I think it a great plant year round. This potted plant comes in a verity of colors…orange, red, pink or white. The plant has round furry leaves that produce a cluster of delicate flowers which when in bloom can last several months. This is a great way to add some color into your home and patio.
This is a succulent plant that is little maintenance. Water once a week and let the soil somewhat dry out between waterings. Place it in a pot that drains well as this plant does not like to be over watered. It can tolerate a wide variety of lighting conditions as long as you avoid direct sunlight in the hottest months.
Here is an interesting fact…the ZULU tribe is the largest ethnic group in South Africa and they use Kalanchoe Plants as a charm to make people invisible. I tried it on my boss and it didn’t work but it was worth the try! Let me know if it works for you.
